About Big Norm: "Big Norm" was born out of a love for vintage college logos from the mid-20th century. Although Charlotte was founded during that era, they didn't play many official sports (they weren't even the 49ers!), so I decided to create a mascot that embodied the spirit of those times. "Big Norm" is the quintessential tough guy, a campus bully with a swagger that's as timeless as his design. Think of him as the quintessential 40s-60s college mascot, a la the intimidating figures that graced the logos of NC State, Oregon, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin.
